EA has finally confirmed that the sequel to Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, will run at 1080p on the next-gen consoles.

This news was released at an EA investor’s meeting focused on the PS4, in which EA’s CTO Rajat Taneja said:

“[PS4 and next Xbox are] between 8 and 10 times the power [of previous gen]“, and, “We no longer have to constrain our games. 1080p, 60FPS…”. We also know that Battlefield 4 on consoles will have 64 player servers, commander mode and a level of graphics we have never seen before.

Battlefield 4 on current gen consoles will be playing the game at 720p at 30fps which is understandable since the technology is pretty much 10 years old.

Battlefield 4 will be coming out on the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC.It will be released on  October 29, 2013 in North America and November 1, 2013 in Europe.
